Beltrami County, MNGenWeb

THIS SITE IS UP FOR ADOPTION

Welcome!  My name is Karen De Groote and I am the Foster Coordinator for Beltrami.  If you would like to become a part of MNGenWeb and adopt Beltrami, I would be more than happy to get you going.

Beltrami County was created in 1856 and the county seat is Bemidji. It is a well-known fact that Paul Bunyan was born here. That is our story and we are sticking to it!

We are a free, genealogical and historical website run by volunteers to assist you in your research. That means that we locate and post materials and handle the website. But this website is yours! Please feel free to submit genealogy or history-related data for us to post here.

NEWSPAPERS - RARE

Timothy Hughes Rare & Early Newspapers would be another website that could be listed here as a resource on the "MNResearchResources and Links" page. (Their website is http://www.rarenewspapers.com/ ).

You can search a database of authentic newspapers on their site (by keyword, date, and more). If someone is looking for a specific edition of a newspaper (such as the St Paul Weekly Minnesotian, St Paul Press, and more) or is looking for information on a topic during their research, they might have it in stock. It could be a valuable resource for your visitors.

They have been dealers in rare & historic newspapers for more than 35 years and currently serve as consultants to the Freedom Forum Newseum, and are members of the American Antiquarian Society and the Ephemera Society of America.
